Lucie Buchbinder Beloved and Admired Community Activist Wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend, and activist Lucie Buchbinder died June 19th at the age of 83. She was struck by an Amtrak train at the crossing in Jack London Square. The loss of Lucie is mourned by her husband Martin, her children and their spouses, her brother and his family, her grandchildren, her stepchildren, extended family members, and many, many friends, colleagues, and students. A memorial celebration of Lucie's life will be held on Sunday, July 29, at 2:30 p.m. at the California Ballroom, 1736 Franklin Street, Oakland, California.
