OBITUARY
GREENVILLE NEWS - Thursday, October 30, l947

Paul E. Bowie, 62, died at a local hospital at l0:55 o'clock yesterday morning after an illness of five weeks.
Born in Abbeville County January 7, l885, he was a son of the late Jacob and Lona Bowie. As a young man he came to Greenville and had since resided here; having been at the Southern Worsted Mill for a number of years. At the present time he made his home with his daughter, Mrs. W. R. Fox at Piedmont Park.
In addition to his daughter Mrs. W. R. Fox, he is survived by two sons, Paul E. Bowie, Jr. of Greensboro, N. C., and Douglas Bowie of Atlanta, Ga., three sisters Mrs. Maude McKinney of Columbia, Mrs. Pearl Morgan of Greenville, and Mrs. Carrie Kay of Pelzer, one brother, Ben Bowie of Greenville and seven grandchildren.
Services will be held at Mountain Creek Baptist Church Friday afternoon at 4 o'clock. Rev. J. A. Cave will officiate and interment will be in the church cemetery.
Six nephews of Mr. Bowie will serve as pallbearers as follows: Claude Kay, Edward Kay, James Kay, Roy Kay, Jake Kay, and Will Lewis Morgan.
He was a mason, Member of Brandon Council No. 58, Junior Order of United American Mechanics.
Funeral plans will be announced later by Thomas McAfee Funeral Home.
