One by one the early settlers of the county are passing away. On Sunday, April 15th 1906, Harriet McIntosh, beloved wife of John Denovan, of Dalkeith, was called to her eternal reward at the advance age of 87 years.
The deceased, who was a daughter of the late Neil McIntosh, was born on Lot 11-7th Con., Lochiel, and after her married to Mr. Denovan resided at lot 14-7th Con., Lochiel, where her death occurred.
She leaves to mourn her loss her husband, two sons and one daughter, William, on the homestead; John A., Vankleek Hill, and Mrs. F. Sutherland, Montreal.
The funeral took place on Tuesday, April 17th, from her late residence to Kirk Hill, assisted by Rev. Cemetery, Rev. A. Morrison, of Kirk Hill, assisted by Rev. H. D. Leitch, St. Elmo, officiated at the funeral service.
The Pall-bearers were, Messrs. T.D. McGillivray, A.D. McGillivray, N. Morrison, Arch. D. McGillivray, N. McIntosh and W. D. McGillivray.

Harriet was the daughter of Neil McIntosh & Rachel McGillivray. She was born on Con 7 Lot 11, Lochiel Twp., Glengarrry Co., Ontario. Harriet married before 1855 to John Denovan (Blacksmith). She died at Con 7 Lot 14, Lochiel Twp., Glengarry Co., Ontario.
