Eulena Coffey Campbell, 75, of Madison died Friday, June 15, 2007, at King's Daughters' Hospital.

She was born Nov. 2, 1931, in Sunshine, Ky., the daughter of Richard and Etna Johnson Coffey. She was a 1949 graduate of Brownstown High School and received an associate degree in business from Ivy Tech. She was first united in marriage to Dale Carpenter on July 21, 1950. While living in North Vernon, she was co-owner of the Dairy Queen and Scenic View Restaurant with her husband. On Aug. 14, 1965, she was united in marriage to Virgil Campbell. She was the former owner of Campbell's Restaurant in Madison for five years. She later co-owned Not Just Pottery for 15 years and worked as a substitute teacher in the Madison Consolidated Schools for five years. She was a member of North Madison Christian Church, the Madison Bridge Club and Madison Elks Lodge 524, and was a former board member of the Madison Country Club. She had co-owned a racehorse named King Petare for several years. She enjoyed golf, bowling, playing bridge, dancing and traveling.

She is survived by two daughters, Karen Sue Mathis of Westport and D. Michelle Carpenter of Bon Secour, Ala.; two stepsons, Don Campbell of Covington and Jim Campbell of Naples, Fla.; one sister, Ruth Bayne of Shelbyville; two brothers, Augusta Coffey and Frank Coffey, both of Shelbyville; one grandson of Hanover; seven stepgrandchildren; six step great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands: Dale Carpenter in January 1973 and Virgil Campbell on Nov. 1, 1981; two brothers, Richard and Carthel Coffey; and one grandson.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at North Madison Christian Church. Burial will be in Springdale Cemetery.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre and at the church Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the service.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to North Madison Christian Church's "Journey of Faith." Contribution cards are available at the funeral home.
