Lawrence A. Wray, 74, Greenwood, died early this morning at Johnson County Memorial Hospital, Franklin.

He was born April 24, 1906 to William and Ida (Wirey) Wray in Bartholomew County.

He attended Edinburgh schools. He married Mary Byrl Zigler Nov. 8, 1930, in Taylorsville.

Mr. Wray farmed until 1959. Then he operated a lumber company in Bargersville for 15 years before working at First Federal Savings and Loan Association in Franklin from 1975 to 1982.

He was a member of the Hopewell United Presbyterian Church and Edinburgh Masonic Lodge 100. He is survived by his wife; a son, Max A. Wray, Bargersville; a daughter, Mrs. David B. Zurschmerde of San Diego, Calif., and four grandchildren.

Services are pending at the Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home in Franklin. Burial will be at the Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.

Family members suggest memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.

A service for Lawrence A. Wray, 74, Greenwood, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home in Franklin with the Rev. Dan Lamey officiating.

Friends may call form 3 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery, Edinburgh.

A memorial service will be conducted at 8 p.m. today by Edinburgh Masonic Lodge 100.

Mr. Wray died Monday at Johnson County Memorial Hospital, Franklin.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Byrl Zigler Wray, a son, Max A. Wray, Bargersville, and a daughter, Mary Jane Zurschmiede, of San Diego, Calif. Four grandchildren also survive.
