Elizabeth was one of six children born to Margaret Anne Shall and James Blair Galloway Sr. She was the grand-daughter of Jane and William Shall and Maria and Richard Lee Galloway Sr.

One of the Best Known Residents of City
Passed Away Yesterday
Mrs. Elizabeth Shall Galloway Darby, widow of the late W. J. Darby, who during his lifetime was one of the best known planters of the Eastern part of this county, died at 9:30
o'clock yesterday morning, Saturday, May 5, 1906, at the residence of her sister, Mrs. John O. Eanes, 705 Arkansas Avenue of typho-pneumonia, after an illness of two weeks. The funeral cortege will leave the residence at 8 o'clock
this morning and will go to the Iron Mountain Depot, where the 8:40 train will be taken for Jacksonville, where the interment will take place this morning beside the remains of Mr. Darby, who died on April 21, 1903.
Mrs. Darby was 52 years of age and is survived by five children, two sons and three daughters, as follows:
Mrs J O Stricklin, Mrs Ed Jackson, Mrs John Boogy, Mr James Darby and Mr William Darby. With the exception of Mrs. Jackson, who resides in Wabbaseka, all reside in this city. She is also survived by her sister, Mrs. Eanes, at whose house she died and was a sister of former County Assessor Walter A. Galloway.
Up to years ago, Mrs. Darby resided on the Darby place near Galloway. East of the city, and at the death of her husband, she moved to this city and has since made her home at 714 East Second Street.
One afternoon, two weeks ago, she went to the house of her sister, Mrs Eanes, two blocks away to pay her a short visit and it was while she was there and it was while she was there that she was stricken with the chill which resulted in her death. She was so ill she was compelled to go to bed and her illness soon developed into typho-pneumonia, from which she died yesterday morning. Mrs. Darby was the neice of Miss Lizzie Shall of Sixth and Scott Streets, Little Rock, and owned considerable property in various parts of this county.
There will be no funeral service at the house this morning, on account of the early hour, but Rev. Ben M. Bonard will go to Jacksonville and will hold services there.
