I never knew my Grandfather but, I was named after him.
During the Depression, he owned three businesses. One of them was a grocery store. According to my mother, people would come to him and ask for food, because they did not have any money. They promised to pay him back when they could. Grandpa always gave them food knowing that he would probably never be paid back. But that was OK with him. He was a kind man. I wish I could have known him.
There are no grave stones for my grandparents that we could find. I was told by the cemetery that the records have been lost.
