One of three children of Edwin and Julia Huston Gee, she married James P. Abbey 10 Dec 1947 in Cropsey. They were the parents of eight.

Her husband, her children, a sister, twenty grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren survive. Her parents and a brother, John Gee, died before her.

CROPSEY - Lois Mae Abbey, 78, Cropsey, died at 12:15 a.m. Monday (July 9, 2007) at the Gibson Area Hospital Annex, Gibson City.

A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Cropsey United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Tim Lembke officiating.

Inurnment will be at Cropsey Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury.

Mrs. Abbey was born Sept. 26, 1928, at Cropsey, a daughter of Edwin and Julia Huston Gee. She married James P. Abbey on Dec. 10, 1947, at Cropsey. He survives at Cropsey.

She was preceded in death by a brother, John Gee.
Mrs. Abbey attended Miller country school in Cropsey Township; she was a 1946 graduate of Cropsey High School and attended the University of Illinois from 1946 to 1947 having achieved the dean's list both semesters. She also was a member of Cropsey United Methodist Church.
