Wife of Prominent Attorney, Victim
of Auto Crash, is Laid to Rest
Funeral services for Mrs. Agnes Bradford Murray, 30, wife of Roger Murray of this city, were held this afternoon at 4 o'clock from the chapel of the Griffin Funeral Home by Dr. J. E. Underwood, pastor of the First Methodist Church and the interment followed in Hollywood cemetery.
Mrs. Murray, who died early Monday morning from injuries received Saturday night when her automobile was wrecked on the Memphis Highway near Braden, was one of this city's most admired young women, and her tragic death is the source of widespread sorrow in this section where she was well known.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Murray is survived by two children, a son, Roger Murray, Jr., and daughter, Mona; her mother, Mrs. Mary Bradford; two brothers, George Bradford and Roy Patterson of this city and a sister Mrs. Mona Christopher also of Jackson.
The chapel at the funeral home was taxed to hold the host of friends and admirers gathered for the rites this afternoon, and the thousands of lovely flowers were mute tributes to the young woman. The lot in Hollywood cemetery was completely blanketed with the blossoms.
The following served as pallbearers: A. U. Taylor, H. L. Wilson, Leonard Schaeffer, Robert Crump, Roy Walters, and Jack McClellan.
General T. J. Murray of the post-office Department at Washington, arrived by plane last night to attend the funeral of his sister-in-law.
