Carolyn Kaye Altmanshofer, age 59 of Wall Lake, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, November 26, 2003, at her home.

Carolyn was born April 5, 1944, in Carroll, Iowa, the daughter of Myron and Ruth (Bauer) Maynard. She was baptized in the Catholic faith. The family lived on a farm near Wall Lake. Carolyn attended country school and graduated from Wall Lake High School in 1962. She continued her education by attending beauty school in Sioux City, Iowa. Carolyn continued to live in Sioux City and worked as a hair stylist at Younkers. Carolyn became a nurses aid and worked for Twilight Acres Nursing Home for the past 14 years. She especially enjoyed caring for others.

Carolyn was united in marriage to Donald Altmanshofer on December 21, 1996, at Elko, Nevada.

Her hobbies included ballroom dancing and going to Sloan. She especially like to spend time with her children and grandchildren; attending their dance and tumbling recitals.

Carolyn is survived by two sons: Shawn Myers and his wife Holly of Smithland, Iowa, and Corey Myers of Waynesboro, Virginia; two daughters: Tonya Myers of Montrose, Colorado, and Tina Lamaak and her husband Dale of Lake View; seven grandchildren: Christina and Katie Jo Lamaak, Drake Burke, Kylie Myers, Markes and Makenna Myers, and Kayla Myers; two brothers and their wives: Robert and Cathy Maynard of Council Bluffs and Richard and Lois Maynard of Stanwood, Washington; and her special daughter Tammi Schultz.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Don on May 30, 2003; infant son Keaton Mathew Myers; and step-mother Fern Maynard.

Funeral services will be Monday, December 1, 2003, 10:30 a.m., at Triniity Presbyterian Church in Wall Lake, Iowa, with Reverend Donald Gibson officiating. There will be congregational singing with Sue Arnold accompaning on the organ. Pallbearers include: Darrin Boger, Robert Gross, Kenneth Schwanz, Chris Cummings, Cletus Broich, and Scotty Hoaglund. Burial will be at the Wall Lake Cemetery.

Visitation is Sunday at Farber & Otteman Funeral Home, Wall Lake, Iowa, from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m., with family present 3:00-5:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m.
