Maggie attended Maple Springs Elementary School. She was married to Johnnie Batties and to this union eight children were born. She enjoyed cooking, fishing, sewing, shopping at thrift stores, working puzzles, gardening and helping people in her community.
She accepted the Lord at an early age and was a faithful mem-ber of Maple Springs Baptist Church until her health began to fail. She served as Mission President, Sunday School Superintendent, Sunday School teacher and sang in the choir.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Johnnie Batties, one son, Johnnie Batties, Jr., and seven siblings.
She leaves to cherish her special memory three sons, Sammie Joe (Geneva) Batties, Rialto, Calif., Rev. Lonnie Joe (Rosetta) Batties, Detroit, Mich., and Lynell Charles Batties, Idabel; four daughters, Roana (Billy) Favors and Mamie Milligan, both of Idabel, Gloriece (Don) Biglow and Coyartta (Tommy) Nelson, both of Okla. City. Also surviving are 25 grandchildren, and 29 great-grandchildren and a host of friends and associates.
The family gives a special thanks to Caring Hearts Hospice, especially Tara, and her sitter, Ms. Helen.
Services are scheduled for Saturday, June 23, 2007, at 10 a.m. at Maple Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Martin David Hooks, officiating. Interment will follow at Maple Springs Cemetery.
