Sammy Louseah Bailey, 84, of Hamilton, died Sunday, Dec. 8, at Scott and White Hospital in Temple after a short illness. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 10 at the Riley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Franklin Gage officiating, Burial was in Murphree cemetery.

Mrs. Bailey was born June 5, 1907 in King to Artie Ward and Gertrude Harris Spiers. She married Thomas Jennings Lusk in 1925 at Galveston and later married Ira James Bailey June 19, 1934. She was a retired nurse aid and a member of the Littleville Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Selma Spiers dean; two brothers, Artie Elmo Spiers and Jay Armo Spiers; two grandchildren, the infant son of Mr, and Mrs. James (Jim) Lusk in 1947; and Billy Joe Pafford on Sept. 7, 1989; and one great grandson, the infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Pafford in March, 1976.

Survivors include seven children, James Henry Lusk of Houston, John Woodford Lusk of Houston, Ira Ray Bailey of Galveston, Herman Elmo Bailey of Brazoria, Gertrude Otelia Pafford of Hamilton, Sammy Lou Toronjo of Beaumont, and Ora Rita Bates of Evant; three step children, Seth Thomas Bailey and John Frazier of Cherokee, and Grady Bailey of Rock Spring; 17 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 10 step grandchildren; and 15 step great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were W.R. Bates, Ricky Bates, Rodney Arvel Bates, Charles Lee Bailey, Woodford Ray Lusk, Albert Pafford, Oran Bly, Floyd Ray Bailey, and Ronnie Wayne Lusk.
