Brock Respert Morris is being charged with murder and sexual battery after confessing to Baker County Sheriff's Office investigators that he beat, raped, and killed the young girl. Hope's body was found Saturday night in a pasture behind Morris' home.
Hope Denise Norman, 16, passed away June 1, 2007. She was born May 17, 1991 in Jacksonville, Florida and was otherwise a life long resident of Yulee. Hope was an outgoing, lovable young woman. She was especially close to her family and had a special bond with her brother and sister. She loved children and enjoyed babysitting. There weren't many things Hope didn't like, but she especially loved singing, dancing, fishing, boating, swimming, traveling, and the Florida State Seminoles. She is survived by her parents, Wayne and Betty Norman of Yulee, Florida; a brother, Tony Jackson of Yulee; her sister, Ashley Norman, also of Yulee; grandparents, Aurbie and Sally Hires of Macclenny, Florida; numerous cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.
Funeral services were held 11:00a.m. Thursday in the Stephens Family Chapel at Green Pine Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Osburn officiating. Interment followed in Green Pine Cemetery. The family received friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the Hope Norman Funeral Fund through any Mercantile Bank. Arrangements by Green pine Funeral Home.
