Country Musician. Born in Franklin, Tennessee, he was a banjo and fiddle player best known for performing in the duo "The McGee Brothers". Together with his brother Sam, who played guitar, they were one of the most enduring acts on the Grand Ole Opry Show. They made their initial appearance on the Opry in 1926 and made their last major appearance as a duo on the Opry in 1974. After his brother's death in 1975, he continued to appear regularly as a fiddler on the Opry until his death from a heart attack a few days after his last appearance on the program.
