She was second wife of Stephen Heard, born October 1765 and died June 5, 1848 in Elbert, Georgia, daughter of George Washington Darden II and Martha Birch of Virginia and great niece of US President George Washington. She and Stephen had 9 children: Barnard (Bernard) Carroll, Martha Burch, George Washington, John Adams, Bridget Carroll, Pamela Darden, Thomas J., Sarah Hammond and Jane Lanier.
