Actor. Born Norbert Locke in Red Wing, Minnesota, he was most noted for the role as Ringmaster Ned on the "Bozo's Circus" TV series airing on WGN-Channel 9 Chicago, Illinois, from 1961 until 1976. Before he became a radio and television announcer, he performed in various theater companies. In 1956, he joined WGN-TV Chicago, where he was a weather forecaster and co-starred on the children's TV series "Lunchtime Little Theatre". He also later wrote, produced and starred in the children's program "Paddleboat". Before he retired in 1976, he wrote over 2,500 radio and television shows during the course of his career. He died in Kimberling, Missouri, at age 72.
