Wilma Ridley, born November 21, 1932, and a long-time resident of Belen, was called home by her Savior and Friend on Saturday morning, June 16th, 2007. Wilma was a member of Chihuahua Bible Chapel in Veguita, NM. She was preceded in death by her father Grover Cleveland Cogdill and her mother Frances Johnston-Cogdill, two sisters, Lilah Cogdill and Vera Bainum, two brothers, Herbert (Buster) Cogdill, and Vernon Cogdill.
She is survived by Doug Ridley, her husband of 56 years, 2 daughters - Kristi Ridley of Belen, Sherri Ridley and Fiance Paul Baca of Veguita, 3 sons - Ron Ridley and wife Debbie of Los Lunas, David Ridley and wife Melinda of Belen, and Len Ridley and wife Snooki of Veguita. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren: Julie and Kyle Sparks, Harmoni Ridley, Jennifer Ridley, Drew and Heather Ridley, Connie Ridley, Jamie Ridley, Megan and Ricky Garner, Bryce Ridley, and Karli Ridley. She is also survived by three brothers, Oscar Cogdill, Hubert (Cooter) Cogdill, and Wilbur Cogdill and countless friends who were blessed to know her.
Wilma loved her Lord and Savior, her husband, her children and grandchildren, the other members of her large family, her church, and others too numerous to mention. She was a kind person who never spoke ill of anyone she knew. All of us who loved her are much poorer now that she is no longer in this world, but rejoice, knowing that Heaven and those who preceded her are richer for her homecoming. We all look forward to the day when all of us who have accepted Jesus will be reunited.
Services where held Monday, June 18th, 2007, at 1:00 P.M. at Chihuahua Bible Chapel. Interment will follow at the Chihuahua Bible Chapel Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Riverside Funeral Home of Belen, 418 W. Reinken Ave. An online guest register is available at www.riversideofbelen.com
