Photographer:

Raul Corrales, documented Cuba's political revolution of the 1950's. He was Castro's official photographer from 1959 to 1961. His picture of Castro's triumphant entry into Havana, at the head of a ragtag rebel army, has been compared to such images as Washington crossing the Delaware. Once Castro was in power, he traveled with him as a photojournalist on many occasions. In 1962, he was named director of Cuba's Office of Historical Matters, which houses the government archive of the revolution. He remained there until he retired in 1991.
