Mrs. William Borchelt, Sr., a well known resident of Seven Hickory township, died at her home five miles northwest of Loxa, Monday afternoon, after an illness of about one week. The demise of Mrs. Borchelt was due to heart trouble complicated with acute indigestion.
The deceased was born in Germany, November 1844, emigrating to this country in 1864. Her marriage to Mr. Wm. Borchelt, Sr., followed at Batesville, Ind., in 1868.
This union was blessed with seven children, three of whom have preceded the mother to the grave. The children who, with the grief stricken husband and companion survive the dead, are namely: Henry Borchelt, Will Borchelt and Mrs. Minnie Boyer {note: s/b Mrs. Winnie Byers Bowyer] of Charleston, and Mrs. George W. Bohlander of Olney.
Besides her children Mrs. Borchelt is survived and her memory cherished, honored and revered by the following step children: Mesdames Henry Kreiger and Charles Schein of Batesville, Ind., Mesdames Henry Schmide and Sophia Gerhardt of Cincinnati, O., and Mrs. Henry Crim of Charleston.
The funeral services will be held from the family residence this afternoon. Burial will be made in Mound cemetery at Charleston.
