Patrick Dowling, the saloon keeper, died suddenly at his home at a late hour yesterday afternoon. His many friends were last night surprised to find his saloon closed, and they were still greater surprised upon inquiry to hear of his death.
Mr. Dowling has been in the saloon business for some time past, but has been at his present stand for only a short time, having purchased it about six months ago.
The deceased was 41 years of age, and besides his wife, he leaves two children, one son, aged 16 years, and one little daughter, Ethel, aged 3 years. He also leaves three brothers, all of whom reside in St. Louis.
