Prominent Stockman Passes Away at His Woods Cross Home
Gilbert S. Hatch 79, retired farmer and sheepman, died at his home Sunday following a heart attack.
Born at Woods Cross on January 15, 1859, to Ira and Jane Ann Stewart Hatch, he had lived here most of his life. He married Ellen Moss loss on October 3, 1883.
Surviving are his widow and 8 sons and daughters, Mrs. C. M. Egan, Mrs. Edith Haacke, Mrs. Stanley G. Haacke, Mrs. Walter H. Barber, Lawrence M. and Reed M. Hatch, all of Woods Cross; Mrs. Leland H. Sessions of Bountiful and Mrs. Frederick Muir of Seattle, Washington.
Funeral services were conducted Thursday at 2 p. m. m in the South Bountiful ward chapel, by Bishop Walter Moss, The following program was rendered: "O My Father" double mixed quartet; invocation Frederick Muir; "I Know That My Redeemer Lives" double mixed quartet; remarks, Lawrence Moss; tribute to Mr. Hatch, Byron Ray, a grandson; accordion solo, "Home On The Range" Dorothy Sessions, a granddaughter. Remarks, Wilford C. Wood; solo, "I Am a Stranger In Galilee." Mrs. Zara Inglebrasen; Remarks, President Thomas Winegar; solo "Hold Thou My Hand", Mrs. Emily Holbrook; remarks, Bishop Walter Moss, solo, "Goin' Home", Joseph Wood; benediction, Amos Cook. Interment was in Bountiful cemetery. Charles M. Egan dedicated the grave.
