Mrs. Garrard was born October 19, 1914 in Hancock County: she was preceded in death by her parents, the late McCoy and Elizabeth Gaissert Hussey and her husband, Henry Allen (Britt) Garrard. She was a member of Gaissert United Methodist Church (which was named after her grandfather) but has attended Brown Memorial Baptist Church for many years. She was a charter member and past-president of The Joy Club. She also owned and operated a dress shop for a number of years. Mrs. Garrard passed away Wednesday, October 06, 2010 at her residence.
She is survived by her God-son, Joe Harry (Barbara) Rowland, 2 great-God-sons, Al Rowland and Jason Rowland, all of Wrightsville and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Al Rowland, Jason Rowland, John Allen Rowland, Eli Rowland, John Cline, Joel Cline, Jerry Howell and Bryan Watts.
