MUNCIE — Charles Edgar "Bus" Malicoat, 86, passed away Monday, June 11, 2007, at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, following an extended illness.

He was born July 16, 1920, in Tipton, to Emmett and Lela (Lawson) Malicoat and has been a resident of Muncie since 1962. Charles was a veteran of the U.S. Army in World War II in the European Theater. He retired from C&X Railroad after 33 years of employment and was a member of Tabor Baptist Church.

He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Wilma (Brown) Malicoat, who were united in marriage on May 18, 1941, at the First Baptist Church in Elwood; brother-in-law, Roland (wife, Marianne) Brown of Muncie; nieces and nephews and their families in Frankfort; nieces and nephews and their families in Texas and Indianapolis;, and cousins in Tipton and Frankfort.

Charles will be sadly missed by his numerous family and friends in the Muncie, Anderson, Indianapolis, Frankfort, Tipton, Elwood, and Texas area.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Emmett and Lela (Lawson) Malicoat, two brothers, and two sisters.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 W. Kilgore Ave., Muncie, with Pastor Jim Sandberg officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Elm Ridge Funeral Home.

Burial will follow at Park View Cemetery in Alexandria.
