Man dies after fall
A man died Thursday when he fell through the roof of a grain elevator. Emergency workers responded to a call about a body in a Norman grain elevator at the Rhodes Grain Co., 602 N. Front Street, about 10 a.m., police Lt. Tom Easley said. Police did not release the man's name Thursday pending notification of relatives. Easley said the man was 34 years old and lived in Norman. The man broke through the roof and fell about 20 feet, landing on a concrete floor, he said. Investigators think the man fell during the night.

Name of fall victim is released
The name of a man who died when he fell through a grain elevator roof was released Friday by police. Ricky Eugene Wall, 34, of Norman died sometime late Wednesday or early Thursday while walking on the roof of the Rhodes Grain Co. elevator, 602 N. Front St., said police Lt. Tom Easley. Wall broke through the roof and fell 20 feet to a concrete floor below, Easley said.Police found him after someone reported at 10 a.m. Thursday that a dead boby had been found inside the elevator.

Smith & Son Mortuaies is handling arrangements. Mr. Wall was born Jan. 14, 1971, in Oklahoma City. He graduated from Little Axe High School in 1989 and then attended Southwestern State University. His love for his family, enthusiasm for football and gentleness of caring for the elderly is only part of what made him the unique person he was. His laughter, smile and big hugs could brighten everyone around him. Family members remember Mr. Wall as a cherished person, whose warmth, kindness and smile who will be missed by those who knew and love him. Mr. Wall was preceded in death by his grandfather Marshall Wall. Mr. Wall is survived by his parents Ralph and Jeanie Wall of Little Axe; sister Kathy Daughtry; nieces [should be nephew and niece] Trystan and Katelyn Daughtry of Owasso; grandparents Verna Irene of Oklahoma City and Paul and Patsy Westerman of Hendersonville, Tenn.; and many uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
