1900 Census-Butler Borough, Butler, PA: Anna Shoup 66 & grandsons: Albert A Shoup 6 & Chas L Shoup 5. They must have been visiting 'Grandma' - their Dad lived a couple doors down and was listed as widowed.

Died, Tuesday morning, November 5, 1912, at 5:00 o.clok a.m. at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Anna Young, of Youngstown, Mrs. Anna M Shoup, widow of the late John Shoup, aged 80 years. The remains will be brot to the home of her daughter, Mrs. R.M. Thompson, 215 First Street. Services will be held from the Christian Alliance church, Thursday at one o'clock. Interment in the South cemetery.

The following children survive: Jacob Shoup, of Carnegie; Mrs. Henry Gold and Mrs. R.M. Thompson, Butler; Mrs. Anna Young, Youngstown; Mrs. Margurette Crumm, Mineral Ridge; Charles Shoup, McKees Rocks; George Shoup, Pittsburg and John Shoup, Etna.

Gravesite Details

John & Mary's marker is on the reverse side of George & Charlotte B Shoup. John and George were brothers; not only in blood, but in combat.
