Came over to New York on the Saratoga in 1851 - future husband, George is listed next to her. They get married a little over a year later on January 8th, 1853, in Brown County Ohio. (License filed December 20th, 1852) Her name on the ship manifest and the marriage record is clearly Bader. On her son John's death certificate, her maiden name is listed as "Meyer" but with the other records, and since it was a daughter-in-law that provided the information, this could have been slightly misinterpreted by the person filling out the form. Or - was she married previously in Germany prior to coming over? The rest of her children leave the maiden name blank, so it was not widely known in the subsequent generations.
