Arless Randall, 75, of Janesville died at home on Sunday, June 3, 2007, following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born March 28, 1932 in Milwaukee, WI to Swedish immigrants John and Anna (Lindstrand) West. Arless married Donald E. Randall on August 6, 1955 in Milwaukee. She graduated from Milwaukee Lincoln High School. Arless attended U.W. Madison and was a UW Players Key member (drama). She received a BS in Education from U.W. Madison. Arless then went on to earn a Masters in Education at U.W. Whitewater where she was a member of Phi Kappa Phi Graduate Honors Society. Arless first taught at Jefferson High School in Jefferson, WI, where she developed a speech program. She then taught eighth and ninth grade English and coached drama at Marshall Junior High School in Janesville for 33 years. Following her retirement, she was a substitute teacher at Craig High School. Arless had a passion for teaching and a desire to help children succeed. Arless was a member of First Lutheran Church where she was a past member of the choir. She was an Executive Board member of Janesville Education Association. Janesville Area Retired Education Association, and Rock Valley United Teachers – Retired. She volunteered at Rotary Gardens and was a past volunteer at Mercy Hospital. She was a past member of Blackhawk Curling Club and past president of Swinging Squares. Arless is survived by her husband of 52 years, Donald; her daughter, Debra Ann (Fred) Kundert of Freeport, IL; 2 sons, Richard Randall and Robert (Stacy) Randall of Janesville; 7 grandchildren, Allison Kundert, Adam, Krista, Graham, and Jenna Randall, and Kelsey and Benjamin Randall; one great-grandchild; Holden Busfield; and Aunts, Uncles, and many cousins in Sweden. She was preceded in death by her mother and step father, Anna and Albin Kahlen; and her father, John West. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 7, 2007, at FIRST LUTHERAN CHURCH with Rev. George Bauman officiating. Entombment will follow in Milton Lawns Memorial Park.
