Obituary -- Mrs. S. P. Dean
After many weeks of patient suffering, Mrs. S. P. Dean of Yuba passed on last Thursday morning. While her death had been expected daily her going was known to but few until hours afterwards.
Miss Mary E. Pratt was born in Ypsilanti, Mich., in 1849, and with her parents came to Old Mission before she was a year old. She resided on the peninsula until she married S. P. Dean in 1873, and settled in Grand Traverse county on the farm that for forty years has been her home.
Nine children blessed this union, Edmond of Ohio, Herbert of California, Tina, now Mrs. John Daw, Robert of New York, Anna, now Mrs. C. D. Lyon, Blanche, now Mrs. A Baldwin of Traverse City, Lewis of Reed City, Joseph and Frank at home. All survive her, also a brother, Wm. E? Pratt, and a sister, Mrs. Wm. D Bagley both of Old Mission.
The funeral was held at the home Saturday afternoon, conducted by Rev. m. A. Braund and interment made in the Yuba cemetery.

Card of Thanks.
Our heartfelt thanks go out to the friends who contributed so much loving care and attention to our wife and mother during her illness, and for the many flowers which helped to make the weeks of pain brighter and easier to bear. Also we express our gratitude for the sympathy to us in our recent bereavement. -- S. P. Dean and family.
