ADAMS, GEORGE P., passed away Monday, May 28, 2007. For a man whose life was defined in a large part by his Marine Corp service on WWII battlefields such as Guadalcanal and Iwo Jima, it was fitting that he passed away on Memorial Day. He is survived by his wife, Charlotte B. Adams; his three sons, David Adams (Charlene), Clyde Adams (Jackie) and Greg Adams (Joanne); seven grandchildren, Sean Adams, Jordan Adams, Jason McCarty (Laurie), Amanda Cobb (Jeremy), Tabitha Talley, Ryan Adams, Rachel Adams, Christopher Adams and Cameron Adams; seven great grandchildren; and two sisters, Jane Watson and Sarah Tom Bentley. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Mary Francis Bennett and Madge Champion and his brother, Robert Adams as well as his grandson, Justin Adams. Funeral Services will be held Friday, June 1, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Hebron Baptist Church in Leeds. Burial will be in Mt. Hebron Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, May 31, 2007 6:00-8:00 p.m. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Mt. Hebron Baptist Church, 2617 Eastern Valley Rd., Leeds, AL 35094.
