Cambridge – Funeral services for Mrs. Virgil (Flossie) Quayle, 80 of 110 N. Main St will be on Thursday, Dec. 17 in Stackhouse Scheunemann Funeral Home in Cambridge. Interment will be in Bishop Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Quayle died on Dec 14 in extended care section at Hammond Henry Hospital, Geneseo. She was born 28 Feb 1901 in Nekoma, the daughter of Leslie and Margaret Stevens Hayden. She attended Nekoma schools and then taught school and was a telephone operator, also in Nekoma.
Her marriage to Virgil Quayle took place 10 Aug.1921 in Monmouth. They lived and farmed in Nekoma and Bishop Hill areas before moving to Cambridge upon retirement. She was preceded in death in addition to her parents by two brothers and a sister. Mrs. Quayle was a member of the Cambridge United Methodist Church, united Methodist Women's Circle, Royal Neighbor Lodge of Nekoma, and the Philathea class of Bishop Hill Methodist Church.
