My grandmother Mary Alice was a native of Nebraska.
Her mother Margaret Elizabeth Armstrong and her stepfather William A. Palmer raised my Grandmother. Her Biological father Emory Wilson deserted this family when Mary and her sister Nora were very small. Her mother divorced because of desertion. Mary Wilson married Elmer E. Ball in 1892, Papillion, Sarpy, Nebraska and raised a family of eight. My father Leslie W. being the fifth child. They lived in Louisville, Cass, NE until about 1920 when they all moved to Salt Lake City, Utah in pursuit of work. All of the boys helped their dad and worked tending the railroad. Eventually they all moved to Los Angeles, California about 1924-25.
