Pecht--Amelia Stevens was born in Holt county, Mo., March 24, 1857, and died at her home in Hamlin, Sat., June 7. In early years she came to Brown county, settling on a farm near Hamlin and later moved to Hamlin. She was married to Wm. Pecht in September, 1917. After spending a year traveling thru the West and parts of Canada they returned to their home in Hamlin where they lived until her death. By her kindness and hospitality she endeared herself to a large circle of friends who with her husband, one son, 3 sisters and a brother are left to mourn her loss. She had been in ill health for the past 6 months, but she bore her suffering with a patience truly remarkable. She has been a member of the Brethren church for a number of years and her funeral was held at the church conducted by the pastor, Rev. Geo. Cone. The Eastern Star, of which she was a charter member, had charge of the services at the grave. The many beautiful floral offerings attested of the high esteem in which Mrs. Pecht was held in the community in which she lived.
