Memorial services: 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, New Hope United Methodist Church, Muscatine. There will be no visitation.

MUSCATINE, Iowa - James Richard Adkison, 75, Muscatine died Thursday, Nov. 16, 2006, at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City.

The Rev. Richard Sebeniecher of the New Hope United Methodist Church will officiate services. Burial will be in the Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date.

A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home.

James Richard Adkison was born on Aug. 28, 1931, in Muscatine, the son of James William and Mildred E. (Dusenberry) Adkison. He married Ruth Chapman Dec. 9, 1956, in Muscatine. He worked at Roach and Musser and then worked for Young Brothers Steel Stamp Works Inc., retiring in 1993.

He attended the New Hope United Methodist Church and enjoyed fishing, hunting and restoring old cars.

He will be deeply missed by his wife, Ruth, of Muscatine; two sons, one daughter, one brother, one sister, three grandchildren, three step- grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Ollie Stachar and one sister, Evelyn Babcock.
