Michael was the 5th of 8 children of Christian Harrold and Naome/Naomi Williams of Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, and Columbiana County, Ohio.
He married April 25, 1844, Sarah Seidner, daughter of John Seidner. She was born November 30, 1818, in Mahoning County, Ohio, and died August 20, 1884, in Columbiana County, Ohio.
Michael appears in the 1850 census of Unity Township, Columbiana County, Ohio. He was a farmer, age 30. His mother was residing in the listing just before him.
Michael's gravestone inscription reads: age 66 yr 1 mo 8 day.
