Professional Hockey Player. A native of Eveleth, Minnesota, Palazzari was educated at the Eveleth High School and the Eveleth Junior College. As a young man, he excelled at hockey and he used his skills to obtain his education at the University of Illinois, later playing with their hockey team in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Union from 1939 to 1940. A star player, he first played with the United States Hockey League's Eveleth Rangers from 1938 to 1940, the Akron Clippers from 1941 to 1943, and the Eastern Amateur Hockey League's Boston Olympics from 1942 to 1943, before turning professional. Playing the position of Right Wing, Palazzari was signed to the National Hockey League's Boston Bruins and played in 24 games with them before being traded to the New York Rangers for $3,000 on February 22, 1944. He eventually ended his career on October 18, 1944, after receiving a serious eye injury at the New York Rangers training camp. He returned to his native Eveleth, Minnesota, and took a job with the US Steel Company. He passed away there at the age of 88. He was the father of professional hockey player Doug Palazzari.
