Robert, your eyes stare out at me from this page. You don't look sad. You just look young. Too young to die.

No wonder your little brother, John R., who was only ten when you left him forever, remembered his mother, Mary A.Conneally Enright, crying at the mention of your name.

All that's been handed down verbally is that you died at age 19 of heart problems. That has always been a question mark for us.

I have nothing to write about for you. I don't even know if they called you Bob or Robert. Were you musically talented like the rest of the kids? Did you play piano like your father? Were you strong-willed like your mother? Did you have devotions to the Sacred Heart like your brother?

OBITUARY, October 9, 1917, Berkshire Eagle:

ROBERT A. ENRIGHT, 19, son of Mr. and Mrs. John H. Enright, died last evening. Although he had been seriously ill at the cottage in Lanesboro, still he seemed to be gaining slowly, but a sudden change came and the heart being weakened, he failed to rally.

He was a student at the St. Joseph's school in this city [Pittsfield] and a graduate of Seton Hall high school [East Orange, New Jersey] and was preparing to enter Holy Cross College [Worcester] this fall, but his illness prevented.

He is survived by his parents, three sisters, Marie, Louise and Natalie and one brother, John.

The funeral will be held from his home 214 First Street, Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock followed by requiem mass at St. Joseph's church.
