Rudolph W (likely for Wanner) Detweiler (sometimes spelled with two TTs by some relatives) was born in 1807 in Pennsylvania. After he married, he sometimes used the nickname "Rudy." Due to his preceding consecutive male ancestors, he was sometimes named Rudolph III (especially by genealogists). He had at least fourteen children with Susannah Bingeman. Their first child was John Byron who, like his father, always spelled his surname with one T (Detweiler). He was a Mennonite Farmer. He died in 1889 in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, having lived a long life of 82 years. Rudolph Detweiler had eleven surviving children upon his death.
