Arthur Fritz Jones of Chester, Neb., formerly of Fairbury, died Dec. 26, 1982.

One of the seven children of Earnest Jones and Lena Fisbeck Jones of rural Daykin, Neb., he was born Jan. 6, 1914.

"Art," as he was often called, attended school at Daykin.

He lived most of his life in the Daykin area and at Fairbury.

On Aug. 29, 1940, he was married to Rosa Opal Hill of Helvey and to them four sons were born.

After his marriage he lived in Fairbury and worked for the City of Fairbury. In 1971 he retired because of poor health.

Jones kept busy with numerous jobs and hobbies of which four years was with Senior Diner and working as bus driver.

He was transferred to Chester and was employed as a bus driver for the Senior Diner program at the time of his death.

Surviving are his wife, Rosa of Chester, four sons, twins, Loren of Blair and Jay of Fairbury; LeRoy of Chester and Edwin of Fairbury; 11 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; brother, Henry Jones of Fairbury; and two sisters, Min, Mrs. Francis Miller of Fairbury, and Ina Mae, Mrs. Karl Drew of Eugene, Ore.

His parents, brother, August Jones, and two sisters, Lydia Wilson and Tillie Fishell, preceded him in death.

Services were Dec. 28 in the Traum-Vance-Gerdes Chapel with the Rev. Lacey Joiner officiating. Glen Junker was musician. Pallbearers were Charles Jones, Gary Jones, Allen Jones, Jeff Jones, Rick Jones, and Whitey Meyer. Interment was in the Fairbury Cemetery.
