Georgia was the third child and third daughter of George Arthur McLeod and Kate Grant-Stuart. Her father was a mariner and captain of many vessels on the Great Lakes. Her mother died when Georgia was quite young. Under the care of her grandmother, Jane (who had been widowed and had remarried to a man named John Roundtree), she and her sisters were taken to Whittier, California. The older girl in the photo is Harriet Roundtree, daughter of John Roundtree. Harriet, who had also lost her mother to consumption, was a principal care-giver to Georgia, both in Port Huron and in California. Photo information correction: Georgia's grandmother should not read Jane McLeod Roundtree, but rather "Jane (maiden name - Cheesman)Grant-Stuart Roundtree." Georgia married Karl Eric Ahlstrom (of Stockholm Sweden) in 1914 and had two children, Dawn-Harriet Young (born 1921) and Katherine McLeod (Born 1916, died 1926). Georgia & Karl (or Alec as he was called) lived in Northern California most of their lives centering around Vallejo CA and the Napa Valley, and are buried in Lower Lake Cemetery, Lake County, CA.
