PERRY TWP. -- Mary M. (Fenn) Bender, 83, died Saturday, May 6, 2006 in Oak Park, Ill.
She was born in Akron and was an Akron resident until moving to the Canton area in 1962. In 2001, she moved to Oak Park, Ill., to be near her daughter. She was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, was very active in the Catholic War Vets and had been a volunteer at Aultman Hospital for over 25 years.
Mrs. Bender was preceded in death by her husband, Robert F. in 1992; her daughter, Diane Cebulko in 1993; and her brothers, George and John Fenn; and is survived by her children and their spouses, Dr. Kathy and Dr. Joe Walsh of Oak Park, Ill., Rev. Mr. Robert and Martie Bender of Green and John and Teresa of Overland Park, Kan.; 10 grandchildren, nine great- grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, 10 a.m. at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 1800 Steese Rd., Uniontown, Ohio 44685 (in Green). Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, 4 to 8 p.m. at the Anthony and Biscan Funeral Home, 4178 Massillon Road (corner of Steese and Massillon Rds.)
