Florence Margaret Brier, 93, formerly of Williamsport, died at 9 a.m. Monday, May 7, 2007, at Rosewalk Commons. She was born on Aug. 16, 1913, in Warren County to the late William VanHorn and Carrie McBride VanHorn.
She was a 1931 graduate of Boswell High School and a lifelong resident of Warren County.
Her marriage was to William Elmer Brier Jr. on Nov. 28, 1935. He preceded her in death on Nov. 12, 1983.
She graduated from Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in 1934. Mrs. Brier was a homemaker and helped her husband on their farm. She enjoyed outdoor activities and reading.
She was a member of Tab Christian Church and attended Fowler Christian Church.
Surviving are three sons, Stephen T. Brier (wife: Barbara) of Monticello, Charles Wayne Brier (wife: Dawn) of Russiaville, and Dan Leroy Brier (wife: Nancy) of Wilmington, N.C. Also surviving are a daughter-in-law, Ruth Brier of Terre Haute; 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by a son, William Robert Brier; a grandson, William "Willie" Brier; and 2 brothers, Cecil and James VanHorn.
