Jack was the son of John and Ellen Hughes Vaughn. He was married on Dec 27 1924 in Jefferson City to Edna Adair. He retired in 1967 as a clerk for the Missouri Pacific Railroad after 45 years. Emmett was born at Cedar City, Callaway co, Missouri. Emmett and Clyde monroe Vaughn were nicknamed Jack and Bill by their father John Marcellus Vaughn who was quite the jokester and gave them these nicknames for a pair of mules he owned, Jack and Bill, the names stuck..
