Adsit, Kayla Marie FORT COLLINS, Colo. Kayla Marie Adsit, born July 18, 1989 in Rochester, N.Y., moved to Fort Collins in 1991. She died tragically at the age of 17 on Friday, May 4, 2007. She leaves her loving parents, Eric and Lisa; big sister, Janelle (Shawn); dear boyfriend, Scott; best friends, Mayan, Ani, and Lexi; many other close friends; and cat, Pumpkin. Kayla Marie Adsit lived to help others and make a difference in her community. She was involved with Rocky Mountain High School's Key Club, a community service group, for three years, and became the president in 2006. She organized Walk the Rockies in '05 and '06, a benefit walk for the Lance Armstrong Foundation and the Children's Clinic. She volunteered at the Thanksgiving Turkey Run, Walk for Diabetes, numerous homeless shelters, Books for Humanity, and the ARO Dance for the mentally handicapped. She also enjoyed helping special needs students in Rocky's Integrated P.E. class and had planned to attend CSU to become a family counselor. At church, she was loved by the "Little Wonders" she cared for during Sunday services over the last six years. Every summer she also taught Vacation Bible School. In '04, she traveled to Mexico to build houses in an underprivileged community. In '05, she taught Vacation Bible School for a church in Idaho. Kayla could never do anything half-heartedly. She screamed and cheered when the Broncos won, cried when they lost. When she smiled, it was with her whole being. She always preferred text-messaging over talking because she could keep up 15 conversations at a time. Music was also a great talent of Kayla's. She played clarinet, saxophone, piano, and sang in multiple choirs. Her iPod was filled with music she loved to put her beautiful voice to.
