She was born the daughter of the late Sherman and Nora Brinson Edens and was preceded in death by her husband, Enoch N. Asbell. Mrs. Asbell was a longtime member of Barlow Vista Baptist Church and a former member of the Sloop Point Home Extension Club. She was recipient of the Women of the Year for Pender County. She was a longtime member of the Holly Ridge Volunteer Fire Department. For many years Mr. and Mrs. Asbell were well known for their Vegetable Stand at their home. Mrs. Asbell of Holly Ridge died at New Hanover Regional Medical Center at age 75.
