Philip was a Civil War veteran.

Philip Bushar, eighty-one years of age, a veteran of the Civil war, passed away last evening at 7:45 o'clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Edward Paquin, 616 DeKalb street, where he made his home the past two years. He first came to Wausau sixty-five years ago and after working in lumber camps in this vicinity and in the north, lived at Merrill for several years. The veteran enlisted in the army with Company Fourteenth regiment, Wisconsin Infantry, In 1864, shortly before the end of the war. He served in the army three years.

He was at one time affiliated with that Merrill post of the Grand Army of the Republic but had not been a member of the organization for many years. The former soldier was born in Canada April 15, 1848. and came to Wisconsin shortly before he enlisted In the service. He was married In 1878 to Miss Katherine Meuret of Wausau who passed away here In 1920. He is survived by six children, Octave Bushar of Schofleld, Philip Bushar of Foss Spur, Mrs. William Bussey, Mrs. Anna Galow and Mrs. Edward Paquin of Wausau and Mrs. John Dagel of Menasha; and a sister, Mrs. Josephine Allaln of Stratford.

Funeral services are to be held Tuesday morning at o'clock at St James' church, the Rev. E. P. O'Toole officiating, and interment will follow In St. Joseph's cemetery.
