Hale Hamilton, 90; went to be with the Lord on July 1, 2018. Hale was born February 24, 1928 in Tampa, FL. When he was 8 years old his family moved to San Diego, CA. He graduated from Point Loma High School in 1945 and from the University of Southern California in 1949 with a Petroleum Engineering degree. His first post-college job was with the U.S. Geological Survey in Sacramento, preparing topographical maps. In 1956 he got a job at General Dynamics Astronautics, working on the ICBM program. After 5 years he transferred to the Air Force Plant Representatives office and was there an additional 5 years. On Sept. 22, 1963 he met Shirley Van Antwerp and they were married 3 months later on Dec. 23, 1963. Their daughter Susan Louise was born in July 1965. In Sept. 1965 the family moved to Ventura, CA when Hale started his career at NSWSES Port Hueneme. In Sept 1967 they welcomed their daughter Elizabeth Ann (Lissa) to their family. After Hale's retirement in 1985 they lived in Peoria, AZ for 7 years but returned to their hometown of Ventura. Hale received Christ as his Savior in 1970 at age 42, after reading "The Late Great Planet Earth" which Shirley had left for him to see. Hale was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) for many years and served as a past president. He was a member of the Army Reserve from 1950-1959 and achieved the rank of MSgt. He was an active member of Gideons International since 1974. He was a former member of The Ventura Missionary Church and a current member of The Ventura Jubilee Fellowship.

Hale is survived by his wife of 54 years Shirley, daughters Susan (Brian) Stanton, Dayton, NV, and Lissa Varela, Carson City, NV, his grandchildren Nate (Sarah) Varela, Carson City, NV, Brian (Sara) Stanton, Dayton, NV, Isabel Varela Reno, NV, Kirsche and Delaney Stanton Dayton, NV, step-grandchildren Brandon Varela, Fife, WA, Ashley Stanton, Eugene, OR, and Kalib Varela, Christchurch, NZ, great grandchildren Kohen Varela and Sophie Stanton, nephew John Hamilton and niece Julie Hamilton.

Service will be held on Friday July 6 11:00 at Ventura Jubilee Fellowship 2226 Goodyear Ave. Ventura, CA.
