Thank you for visiting our sweet Fluffy. Our hearts are broken.

Fluffy was a black and gray striped feral cat who came into our lives in 2010 when we put food out for another kitty. At first he was scared but after a few weeks, he let us pet him. He hung around our house living in the front yard. Then he met his kitty wife Mama. She started coming around to eat too. They had 5 or 6 litters of kittens and most of them found homes. Including our Tux and Little Puff. We finally caught Fluffy and Mama a few years ago and got them fixed. So no more kittens. He also was the daddy of our feral cats Squeeky and Baby who disappeared a few years ago. My husband had made them a wooden cat box for Fluffy and Mama to sleep in. It had carpet inside and a kitty heating pad. Fluffy decided a couple years ago to come in our house and he got along with the rest of our kitties. After that, he came in when it was raining or snowing and cold. Only went out to potty or visit with Mama or roam the neighborhood.
He was such a sweetheart with so much love to give. He would come in our house and wrap his self around our legs and purr when we petted him. He loved having his hind end scratched above his tail and would make the funniest face and chatter. He loved going in our backyard and the front yard and lay in the sun. He would lay beside Mama and they would scamper up and down the sidewalk playing. We didn't like it but he liked going down in the sewer sometimes. If we saw him getting ready to, we would call his name and he would come back. I spent many nights going to the door and calling him to come in and he would finally show up and take his sweet time coming to the door. A couple times he disappeared for a couple days and I would be worried. Then he would show up like nothing was wrong. I would be relieved and ask him where he had been.
He loved treats and tuna fish. He loved being brushed with the kitty brush. He loved being with our family and past few months had been sleeping under my husband's and my bed at night. He would go in my daughters room and lay on her bed and also my sons. Towards the end, he would lay in the basement in my husband's man cave and lay by the back sliding door on a foam kitty bed. He could watch and listen to the outdoors through the screen door.
He was a strong boy and and a fighter when he was sick. He would come home sometimes with battle wounds from fighting other cats or getting hurt. Everything from a scratched ear to a gash on his neck and once had a sprained foot. We were able to help him with all that but when he grew a bump on his side a month ago and we found out he had a cancer tumor, we were heartbroken. Nothing could be done. We made him comfortable and gave him plenty of love until the end. When I would sit with him and pet him , he would kinda purr like a trilling noise. We took turns sitting with him and loving on him and keeping him comfortable.
His kitty wife misses him and looks for him every day and doesn't understand where he is. She won't come in our house. So we go out and sit with her and pet her and keep her company for a while each day.
Fluffy got weaker and stopped eating and just slept most of the time. We finally had to choose to put him to sleep. So he wouldn't suffer anymore. It broke our hearts but also broke our hearts seeing him that way. He fought a good fight but now has gone to the rainbow bridge.

Fluffy showed up to us as a scared hungry feral kitty and turned into a loveable furbaby that took a piece of our heart and was part of our family. We miss him and love him so much.
