from the Topeka Daily State Journal, Monday, July 3, 1922:
"Topekan for 40 Years Dead - David McNair Died at Home in Topeka Today - David McNair, 82, a resident of Topeka for nearly 40 years, died this morning at his home, 134 Western Avenue. Mr. McNair was born in Scotland. He came to the United States when he was 25 years old and settled at Princeton, Ill. He lived at Princeton until about 40 years ago when he came to Topeka to live. He is survived by two sons: Alex McNair and D.W. McNair, both of Topeka, and two daughters, Mattie Eliot of Manhattan and Ed Rollier of St. Joseph, Mo. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 o'clock Wednesday morning from the Penwell chapel. The body will be taken to Wabaunsee Cemetery in Wabaunsee county for burial."
