Geraldine Cavanagh-Wood, 78, died February 4, 2005 in Federal Way, WA. Born in Wickford, RI, Jan. 8, 1927, she graduated from Rhode Island State College, taught English for many years at the former Aquinas Academy and at Annie Wright School in Tacoma, and served as Headmistress of Annie Wright. She volunteered with the Tacoma Orthopedic Association and Philomathea, and was most recently a long-time member of St. Vincent's Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Gerard J. Cavanagh, in 1988. She is survived by children Mark E., Seattle, Kevin P., Tacoma, Sheila T., Atlanta, GA, Eileen L., Seattle; grandsons Davis Cavanagh, Atlanta and Aaron Gardner, New Hampshire; two great-grandchildren; and brother Carmel Denicourt, Warwick, RI. She is also survived by her husband, Freeman Wood, Federal Way. Memorial services will be held at the chapel at Gethsemane Catholic Cemetery, 37600 Pacific Way S., Federal Way, on Saturday, Feb. 12 at 11:00 a.m. The family requests any memorials be donated to St. Vincent's Catholic Church, 30525 8th S., Federal Way, WA 98003.
