MANSFIELD - Bonnie Boteler, died March 22, 2002, at an Arlington hospital.
Funeral: 2 p.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church, Rev. Mike Ramsdell, officiating. Burial: Mansfield Cemetery. Visitation: 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Blessing Funeral Home.
Memorials: First United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Boteler was a lifelong resident of Mansfield, the daughter of Albert Sidney Johnson and Mary Ann Justice Stone, and married Harley Boteler, October 6, 1957, in Fort Worth. Her husband preceded her in death May 27, 1970.
She was a graduate of Mansfield High School, and was a member of the First United Methodist Church more than 75 years.
She started teaching Intermediate Sunday School class while she was yet single, teaching three years, later became a teacher of 2-year-olds and taught 48 years. She estimated as many or more than 750 pupils had passed through that class. Since she had not married, at the time she started teaching, she became known throughout the church as "Miss Bonnie."
Her philosophy about life was: "We only have one; we can either live it or let it go by." She chose to live it.
She worked as a sales clerk in dry goods. Then a Court Clerk in the Justice of Peace office, later retired as an Assistant Director of Mansfield Senior Citizens an employee, of the City of Mansfield.
Survivors: A niece, Margie DiGiovanni of North Richland Hills and a nephew, Robert Noles of Arlington, and several great nieces and nephews. Blessing Funeral Home Mansfield
